Requirements

Operating system [top]

Operating systems supported by WISARD are

  • Windows XP / 7 / 8 (both of 32bit or 64bit)
  • Most of Linux distributions
  • Mac (after Snow Leopard)
  • FreeBSD (after FreeBSD 9)

CPU [top]

WISARD can boost computational speed if you install

  1. Processors supporting SSE/SSE2 (for detailed information, check the `CPUs supporting SSE2` section in this page)
  2. Processors supporting AVX (for detailed information, check `CPUs with AVX` section in this page)

Note that most x86-compatible CPUs since 2005 supports SSE/SSE2 features regardless of CPU types/manufactures/models.

Libraries [top]

Because we distribut only complied WISARD (that is, ready to execute), it is sometimes unflexible to check the version of installed libraries and this feature can raise some compatibility error. At the current version of WISARD we tried to minimize this kind of error, but some errors can happen.

  • For Linux/Mac, most of compatibility error come from incompatibility of common libraries, such as C or C++. In such a case, we recommend not to try to fix this error by yourself without highly trained skills about Linux upgrade/migration. Compatible version of WISARD can be provided by your request via email to biznok@gmail.com.
    NOTE!
When you email us, please leave a note about the distribution and its version of your Linux system!
  • For Windows, WISARD may be executed without error under most version of Windows. However, very early version of Windows can raise compatibility error if no supportive redistributable is installed. In order to solve this problem, please download appropriate version of Visual Studio 2012 redistributables from this page.
